Peranan dan perlaksanaan ICT dalam memperkasakan usahawan wanita luar bandar di Malaysia (The Role and Implementation of ICT in Empowering rural women entrepreneurs in Malaysia)
Abstract
Era revolusi industri keempat menyaksikan penggunaan Internet berleluasa dan dijangka menjadi pemacu dalam segala aspek kehidupan seharian. Keupayaannya sebagai alat dalam menyalurkan maklumat yang mudah dan pantas sesuai digunakan bagi menangani masalah kemiskinan sesebuah negara. Berhubung dengan usaha menyelesaikan isu kemiskinan terutama di kawasan luar bandar, teknologi Internet boleh dijadikan sebagai alat intervensi yang berperanan meningkatkan daya saing serta memperkasakan, dan sekali gus dapat mengubah status sosio-ekonomi, khususnya usahawan wanita di luar bandar. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peranan dan keupayaan Internet dalam usaha membantu dan memperkasakan usahawan wanita luar bandar untuk meningkatkan sosio-ekonomi masing-masing.Sampel kajian adalah berdasarkan senarai nama usahawan yang berdaftar dengan Kelab Usahawan Pusat Internet Desa (KUSPID) dan Medan Info Desa di Seluruh Malaysia. Seramai 186 orang usahawan telah dipilih sebagai responden dalam kajian ini.Kajian ini mengaplikasikan pendekatan kuantitatifmenggunakan kaedah soal selidik bagi mendapatkan maklum balas daripada responden. Hasil kajian menunjukkan 90.8 peratus responden menganggap, internet memainkan peranan penting dalam usaha meningkatkan pendapatan bulanan wanita luar bandar.Namun begitu, penggunaannya masih rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kekurangan capaian, kemahiran, lokasi, perubahan gaya hidup dan soal individu yang masih mengekang penggunaannya. Strategi yang memfokuskan kepada pendidikan dan kemahiran penggunaan Internet dapat membantu mengubah persepsi penggunaan Internet kepada penggunaan yang lebih bermanfaat bagi meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga.

Abstract
The fourth industrial revolution era perceives the widespread use of the Internet and it is expected to be the initiators in every aspect of everyday life. Its capabilities in channelling information easily and quickly lead it as an appropriate tool to be utilized in handling problems of poverty in a country. In relation to the efforts of solving issues of poverty, especially in the rural areas, Internet technology can be employed as a tool of intervention to increase competitiveness, to empower and to change the socio-economic status of rural women entrepreneurs. This study was performed to analyse the roles and capabilities of the Internet in assisting and empowering rural women entrepreneurs to increase their socio-economy. This study involved 186 women entrepreneurs who registered with the Pusat Internet Desa (PID) and Medan Info Desa (MID) as the respondents.This study applies a quantitative approach and using a questionnaire in obtaining the respondent’s feedback.Results obtained from thisstudy have shownthat 90.8 percent of respondentsconclude that theinternet plays an important role in increasing the monthly income. However,its usage is still low. This is due to the lack of accessibility, skills, locations, and change in individual life styles that are deterring the use of Internet. Strategies focusing on education and skills in the usage of Internet would be able to change the perceptions on the usage of Internet into a more beneficial usagein order to increase the economy of the family.
