Abstract

There are two main objectives of this research. First, to obtain the profile of the bumiputera businessmen in Langkawi along with the characteristics of their enterprises. Second, to see the impact of declaring Langkawias taxlfree area and the efforts of developing toursim towards opening venues for bumiputera participation and increased involement in the field of entreprenuership - namely business.ABSTRAKTerdapat dua tujuan utama kajian ini. Pertama, untuk mendapatkan profil individu-individu bumiputera yang menceburi bidang perniagaan di Langkawi dan ciri-ciri firma yang mereka usahakan. Kedua, untuk mengenalpasti kesan pengistiharan Langkawi sebagai kawasan bebas cukai dan usaha-usaha pembangunan pelancongan terhadap penyertaan bumiputera serta perkembangannya dalam bidang keusahawan - khususnya perniagaan
