Abstract

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic situation has changed the implementation of the learning approach to blended learning. This approach is still in its initial phase and the level of acceptance of lecturers in community colleges in Malaysia is still unknown. Thus, this study aims to identify the level of acceptance of lecturers towards blended learning for technical courses implemented in the context of community colleges. This study is a survey research conducted via quantitative approach. A total of 38 lecturers were identified through purposeful and snowballing sampling techniques that met two selection criteria: i) certificate level community college lecturers who teach technical fields and ii) have or are implementing blended learning. Descriptive and inferential analyses were conducted using SPSS Statistics for Windows Version 26.0 software. A Pearson correlation was also conducted to identify the relationship between attitudes and intentions towards the use of blended learning. The results of the analysis found that the mean score for usability, attitude, and intention was high among the respondents, while Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a significant relationship (r = 0.84, p<0.01) between attitude and intention to use blended learning among Community College lecturers. The findings of this study demonstrated that the level of acceptance of blended learning for technical courses among Community College lecturers was high. However, it is important for all parties to provide appropriate support to ensure that this learning approach can be implemented systematically and more effectively.
