NOTA EDITOR

Penerokaan ilmu baharu memainkan peranan signifikan dalam mengembangkan korpus ilmu setiap warga Malaysia. Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia (PPPM) 2013-2025, yang dibentuk oleh Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia mensasarkan kepada peningkatan kualiti dan standard pendidikan negara serta melahirkan modal insan yang berwawasan. PPPM menjelaskan bahawa perubahan dalam system Pendidikan berupaya melonjakkan pencapaian pelajar, menyiapsiagakan kemahiran yang diperlukan dalam abad ke-21, selain membangunkan kemahiran abad ke-21 seperti berfikiran kritis, kreatif dan menggalakkan perkembangan sahsiah pelajar yang holistik bagi membolehkan mereka mendepani sebarang cabaran. Mendokong sasaran PPPM, Institusi Pengajian Tinggi melalui pelbagai program pengajian pendidikan meneroka dan menanggani pelbagai permasalahan baharu berkaitan pendidikan menerusi hasil penyelidikan ahli akademik dan pelajar. Sehubungan itu, keluaran isu khas Akademika pada tahun 2022 ini adalah antara sumbangan ilmiah bagi mengatasi beberapa isu yang dihadapi dalam system pendidikan. Ruang lingkup wacana akademik yang bertemakan “Transformasi dan Pemerkasaan Pendidikan” telah menghimpunkan 16 artikel yang dapat dikategorikan kepada empat tema utama. Pertama, Inovasi Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran. Kedua, Transformasi Kepimpinan Sekolah; Ketiga, Pemerkasaan Pendidikan TVET, dan akhirnya tema Bahasa. Pelbagai dapatan baharu yang memfokuskan kepada isu-isu seperti pembangunan modal insan, inovasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran, pemerkasaan organisasi sekolah melalui transformasi pengurusan dan pentadbiran serta profesionalisme guru menyokong dan mengukuhkan agenda transformasi Pendidikan negara. Bagi Tema Inovasi Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran sejumlah Sembilan artikel membincangkan kepentingan elemen persediaan dan perancangan daripada pelbagai perspektif dan konteks sebagai asas kepada sesuatu pembaharuan. Topik-topik artikel tersebut adalah: “Perbezaan Gender dalam Pengajaran Matematik Menggunakan Pendekatan Gaya Pengajaran Grasha-Riechmann”; “Persepsi Guru Matematik terhadap Pengetahuan Teknologi Pedagogikal Isi Kandungan Semasa Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran di Rumah”; “Pembelajaran Teradun Semasa Pandemik: Analisis Tahap Penerimaan Pensyarah di Kolej Komuniti di Malaysia”; “Persediaan dan Perancangan Pengajaran Guru Pendidikan Islam Menyepadukan Ilmu Sains dan Al-Quran”; “Keberkesanan Modul Komik Mata Pelajaran Perniagaan Tingkatan 4”; “Exploring Multiculturalism in ‘The Weight of Our Sky’ by Hanna Alkaf among TESL Pre-Service Teachers’; “Kesan Pendidikan Keusahawanan ke atas Set Minda Keusahawanan: Pengaruh Pengantara Faktor Kognitif”; “Pengetahuan dan Kemahiran Penyelidikan dalam Meningkatkan Kompetensi dan Profesionalisme Guru: Perspektif Guru Siswazah”; dan “Kualiti Peribadi Kaunselor Kaunseling Keluarga: Implikasi Pendidikan di Institut Pengajian Tinggi”.Tema Kepimpinan dan Pengurusan Pendidikan dikupas dalam tiga artikel iaitu, “Kepimpinan Responsif Budaya dalam Konteks Sekolah Kecil Malaysia: Tinjauan Awal”; “Kepimpinan Maya Guru Besar dan Kesediaan Guru terhadap Perubahan di Sekolah Program TS25” dan “Indikator Perubahan dalam Pelaksanaan Program Transformasi Daerah: Proses Pemerkasaan Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Sebagai Organisasi Pembelajaran”. Tema berhubung Pemerkasaan Pendidikan TVET daripada perspektif guru dan graduan dibincangkan dalam dua artikel. Artikel pertama iaitu “Hubungan Gaya Pengajaran, Efikasi Kendiri dan Kompetensi dalam Kalangan Guru Pendidikan Khas Vokasional” dan artikel kedua ialah “Penerokaan Spesifikasi Kemahiran Generik 4IR bagi Graduan Kejuruteraan Awam Berdasarkan Perspektif daripada Industri”. Artikel seterusnya, membincangkan tema berkaitan isu Bahasa. Artikel tersebut adalah “Penerokaan terhadap Penguasaan Bahasa Kedua Murid Orang Asli Temiar: Suatu Etnografi Kajian Kes”, dan kedua, “Persekitaran Bahasa dan Keterlibatan Pelajar SABK Selangor dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab”. Himpunan makalah yang bertemakan “Transformasi dan Pemerkasaan Pendidikan” diharap menyumbang kepada pengetahuan baharu yang boleh dimanafaatkan oleh pelbagai pihak berkepentingan sama ada daripada aspek penambahbaikan amalan atau menjadi panduan kepada penerokaan ilmu yang seterusnya. Solusi dan cadangan yang diutarakan berpotensi untuk diaplikasikan dalam memacu kualiti pendidikan negara.

EDITOR’S NOTE

The discovery of new knowledge plays a significant role in developing the knowledge corpus of every Malaysian. The Malaysia Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025, formed by the Malaysian Ministry of Education, aims to improve the quality and standards of the national education as well as produce visionary human capital. The PPPM plan explains that changes in the education system could accelerate student obtaining achievement and prepare them with skills needed in the 21st century such as critical thinking, and creativity; encouraging the holistic development of students’ personalities, enabling them in facing any challenges. To support the PPPM targets, Higher Education Institutions through various educational study programs explore and tackles various new problems related to education from the academics and students research results. In that respects, this year’s (2022) Akademika’s Special Issue is one of the scientific contributions discussing issues faced in the educational system. The scope of academic discourse with the theme of “Educational Transformation and Empowerment” has brought together 16 articles that can be categorized into four main themes. First, Teaching and Learning Innovation. Second, School Leadership Transformation; Third, TVET Education Empowerment, and finally, Language as a theme. Various new findings focus on issues related to human capital development, innovation in teaching and learning, empowerment of school organizations through the transformation of management and administration, and teacher professionalism development support and strengthening the national education transformation agenda. For the Teaching and Learning Innovation Theme, nine articles discuss the importance of preparation and planning elements from various perspectives and contexts as the basis for any reformation. The topics of the article are: “Gender Differences in Teaching Mathematics using the Grasha-Riechmann Teaching Style Approach”; “Mathematics Teacher’s Perception of Content Pedagogical Technology Knowledge During Teaching and Learning at Home”; “Blended Learning During the Pandemic: An Analysis of the Acceptance Level of Lecturers in Community Colleges in Malaysia”; “ Teaching Preparation and Planning of Islamic Education Teachers Integrating Science and Al-Quran”; “Effectiveness of Form 4 Business Subject Comics Module”; “Exploring Multiculturalism in ‘The Weight of Our Sky’ by Hanna Alkaf among TESL Pre-service Teachers”; “Effects of Entrepreneurship Education on Entrepreneurial Mindset: The Mediating Influence of Cognitive Factors”; “Research Knowledge and Skills in Enhancing Teacher Competence and Professionalism: A Graduate Teacher’s Perspective”; and “Personal Qualities of Family Counselling Counsellors: Educational Implications in Higher Education Institutes”. The theme of Educational Leadership and Management is covered in three articles, namely, “Culturally Responsive Leadership in the Context of Malaysian Small Schools: A Preliminary Review”; “Headmaster’s Virtual Leadership and Teacher’s Readiness for Change in TS25 Program Schools” and “Indicators of Change in the Implementation of the District Transformation Program: The Empowerment Process of the District Education Office as a Learning Organization”. Themes related to TVET Education Empowerment from the perspective of teachers and graduates are discussed in two articles. The first article is “The Relationship between Teaching Style, Self-Efficacy and Competence among Vocational Special Education Teachers” and the second article is “Exploring the 4IR Generic Skills Specification for Civil Engineering Graduates Based on the Perspective of the Industry”. Finally, the following two articles discusses themes related to the Language issue. The article is “Exploring the Second Language Proficiency of Temiar Orang Asli Pupils: An Ethnography of a Case Study”, and the second is “Language Environment and Selangor SABK Student Engagement in Arabic Language Learning”. This collection of papers, under the theme “Educational Transformation and Empowerment” is expected to contribute to new knowledge that can be used by various stakeholders either from the aspect of improving practice or as a guidance for the next exploration of knowledge. The solutions and suggestions expressed have the potential to be applied in driving the quality of education in the country.
