A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW ON THE ONTOLOGY OF MEDIA CONVERGENCE
Abstract

ABSTRACT
Media convergence is a process in which the media adapts to the audience's digital media usage habits. Media convergence is a response to the rapid development of media technologies and changes brought by these developments are affected by factors such as culture, technology, and economy. The study of ontologies in media convergence can contribute to bridging the research gap by uncovering the intrinsic nature of media convergence and providing guidance for its future trajectory. This study employs a systematic literature review methodology, adhering to the PRISMA 2020 standards for classification and summarization. It comprehensively analyzes over 5,000 academic articles on media convergence sourced from renowned global databases, ultimately selecting more than 50 articles that meet the inclusion criteria. Cultural, content, technology, and economic convergence are identified as pivotal components of the media convergence ontology. Furthermore, this paper delves into an in-depth exploration of their ongoing impact on media convergence dynamics. While acknowledging limitations in data collection processes, this review successfully synthesized pertinent concepts related to the ontology of media convergence by establishing intricate interrelationships among them that culminate in forming a theoretical model with significant academic implications.
