PERSPEKTIF HAMKA DAN ARISTOTLE MENGENAI KEBAHAGIAAN (Perspective of Hamka and Aristotle on Happiness)

ABSTRAK


Kebahagiaan merupakan keinginan bagi semua manusia dalam kehidupan mereka. Selain itu kebahagiaan merupakan tujuan terakhir bagi kehidupan manusia. Seringkali kebahagiaan didengar dan dilafazkan, namun setiap manusia berbeza pandangan mengenai makna dan cara mencapai kebahagiaan. Konsep kebahagiaan merupakan isu yang dibincangkan oleh ahli falsafah terutamanya bagi dua orang tokoh pemikir terkemuka iaitu Hamka (1908-1981 M.) dan Aristotle (384-322 S.M). Kedua tokoh tersebut mempunyai pendekatan yang berbeza berkaitan konsep kebahagiaan. Oleh itu, makalah ini menganalisis makna dan cara mencapai kebahagiaan yang telah dibincangkan menurut perspektif dua orang tokoh pemikir tersebut berdasarkan hasil penulisan mereka. Penelitian ini mengetengahkan metode perbandingan makna dan cara mencapai kebahagiaan. Hasil kajian mendapati wujud persamaan dan perbezaan dalam konsep kebahagiaan di antara Hamka dan Aristotle dalam beberapa aspek tertentu. Hamka melihat kemuncak kebahagiaan dapat dicapai dengan berpandukan Islam. Manakala Aristotle pula melihat kebahagiaan dapat dicapai berpandukan penggunaan akal. Oleh itu, kajian ini dapat memberi kefahaman mengenai konsep kebahagiaan dari segi makna dan cara mencapai kebahagiaan melalui konsep yang betul.

ABSTRACT

Happiness is human desire in their life. Nevertheless, happiness is the highest goal for humankind. The word happiness is often heard and pronounced, but every people differing views on the meaning and the way to attain happiness. The concept of happiness is an issue that philosophers disscuss especially for two prominent thinkers, Hamka (1908-1981 A.D) and Aristotle (384-322 B.C). Both Hamka and Aristotle have different stands with regards to the concept of happiness. Hence, this study analyse the meaning of happiness and how to attain it as understood by both from their writings. This article depends on comparison methods on definition and how to achieve happiness. The findings of the study find that there are similarities and diffrencess in certain aspect on happiness between Hamka and Aristotle. Hamka sees the true happines can be achieved through Islam. Aristotle, on the other hand, sees happines can be achieved through the use of reason. Therefore, this article bring true understanding about happiness to societies about how to attain happiness on the right way.
