Keywords:
medical negligence, law enforcement authorities, AchehAbstract
Recently, medical negligence cases in Acheh have increased in numbers compared to the previous years. The findings ofthe study conducted in Acheh indicate that in 2005 and 2006, there were four medical negligence cases reported and it had increased to nine cases in 2007. Nevertheless, only one case is managed by the law enforcement authorities, while other cases were still under review by Insititusi Majlis Dewan Kehormatan Disiplin (MDKDI), Majlis Kehormatan Etika Kedoktoran (MKEK) and Lembaga Bantuan Hukum (LBH) Banda Acheh. Until today, there is no official statistics on the exact number of medical negligence cases that had occurred in Acheh. The reason for the small numbers of resolved cases in Acheh is due to armed conflicts, earthquake and tsunami that had happened previously, ineffectiveness of the law enforcement authorities and so forth. In order to improve the condition, the researcher has suggested several recommendations.Downloads
