Pengetahuan dan Amalan Hijau dalam Kalangan Murid Sekolah Rendah (Knowledge and Green Practices among Primary School Pupils)

Education, Teaching and learningAbstract
The study involved 423 pupils (aged 10 to 12 years) from ten primary schools in the district of Batang Padang, Perak. The selection of schools by cluster sampling and selection of respondents using simple random sampling method. Questionnaire using Likert scale of 1 to 5 is used for feedback. Green practices variable used in this research are green practices and knowledge of green practices. Variables of green practices knowledge consists of four sub variables which are electricity saving knowledge, water saving knowledge, knowledge of environmental practices and knowledge of practices Recycle, Reduce, Reuse (3R). While the sub variables green practices consist of energy saving practices, water saving practices, environmental practices and 3R practices. The study found that pupils' knowledge of green practices is high. Instead the green practices, four sub variables (electricity saving practices, water saving practices, environmental practices and 3R practices) are at a moderate level. Furthermore, analysis of relationship between the study variables showed a significant relationship between knowledge of energy saving, water saving knowledge and knowledge of 3R practices with electricity-saving practices and the 3R practices. Thus, this proves that not all knowledge have relationship with saving practices. The finding is worrying if there is no continuation of a consistent effort to develop a greater awareness of green practices. Moreover, the school, parents and the community are also involved giving a role model in green practices, particularly in the context of the right energy saving, water saving, and 3R practices. Keywords: knowledge of green practices, green practices, awareness of green practices, pupils, primary schoolDownloads
