Tahap Pengetahuan Pedagogi Ilmu Kandungan Guru Seni Visual Sekolah Menengah (Pedagogical Content Knowledge of Visual Arts Secondary Schools Teachers)

Keberkesanan PdPc di dalam kelas banyak bergantung kepada penguasaan pengetahuan dan kefahaman guru terhadap sesuatu mata pelajaran. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tahap Pengetahuan Pedagogi Ilmu Kandungan (PPIK) guru seni visual sekolah menengah. Kajian tinjauan ini menggunakan borang soal selidik yang mengandungi 70 item untuk mengukur empat komponen PPIK iaitu Pengetahuan Ilmu Kandungan (PIK), Pengetahuan Pedagogi Am (PPA), Pengetahuan Pedagogi Khusus (PPK) dan Pengetahuan Konteks (PK). Soal selidik telah ditadbir ke atas 36 orang guru Seni Visual Sekolah Menengah daerah Hulu Langat. Data telah dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap keseluruhan Pengetahuan Pedagogi Ilmu Kandungan guru-guru tersebut adalah tinggi. Kajian ini juga menunjukkan bahawa guru-guru mempunyai tahap komponen PIK yang paling tinggi, diikuti dengan komponen PPK, PPA dan PK. Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan guru-guru menguasai kawalan bilik darjah secara optimum dalam komponen PPA. Selain itu kajian ini juga menunjukkan guru-guru tersebut banyak menggunakan kaedah pengajaran berpusatkan murid dalam komponen PPK. Melalui hasil dapatan PK mendapati guru-guru seni visual sekolah menengah kurang mendapat pendedahan latihan dan kursus perkembangan profesional yang berkaitan dengan pedagogi PSV. Kajian ini adalah penting kepada guru PSV bagi menyedarkan guru akan pentingnya penguasaan terhadap PPIK demi meningkatkan kualiti pengajaran PSV.Kata kunci: Pengetahuan Guru, Pedagogi Ilmu Kandungan, Pengetahuan Pedagogi Am, Mata Pelajaran Seni Visual, guru seni visual. The classroom teaching and learning depends on teachers’ understanding and mastering of the knowledge of the subject. This study aims to determine the levels of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) among secondary school visual arts (PSV) teachers. This survey study utilizes a questionnaire that contains 70 items that measure four PPIK components consisting of content knowledge (PIK), knowledge of general pedagogy (PPA), knowledge of specific pedagogy (PPK) and knowledge of context (PK). The questionnaire was administered to 36 secondary school visual arts teachers in Hulu Langat region. Data was analyzed quantitatively. The results show that the teachers have a high overall level of PCK. This study also shows that the teachers have a high level of PIK, followed by PPK, PPA and PK. Results also shown that the teachers master classroom control optimally in the component of PPA. In addition, this study also revealed that the teachers frequently use student-centered teaching methods in the component of PPK. Through the results related to PK, it was found that the teachers lacked training and exposure to professional development courses related to PSV pedagogy. This study is important to PSV teachers to educate the teachers on the importance of mastering PPIK in order to improve the quality of PSV teaching.Key words: Teachers’ Knowledge, Pedagogical Contents Knowledge, General Pedagogical Knowledge, Visual Arts Subjects, Visual Arts Teachers.Downloads
